How do I escape this purgatory?

When I open the iOS mobile app, I am prompted with a confirmation box stating, “Only automations in automations.yaml are editable”. When I click Ok, the box goes away but there is no way to move beyond a blank screen. When I close and reopen the app, the same thing happens. I appear to be stock in a purgatory loop that renders my app unusable.

I had something similar once, caused by IOS always wanting to reopen at the exact same point it left. I’m not sure how I got out of it then, but what I would do is put the phone in flight mode, close the app (really close it by swiping it from the task switcher) and reopen it again.

Hopefully, because it can not reach the server, it will show the cog to go to the connection tab. when you are there, disable flight mode and try to go reconnect, which should bring you back to the home page.

I tried that before posting and unfortunately it didn’t work.

Edit… I eventually did get it to work by randomly clicking around but I’m not sure exactly what the correct procedure was. Seems like some app coding needs some attention.

Here’s another idea. I do not know if that only works on ipad or on phones too. I can use the three dot menu on top and then I get offered a chance to open a second HA window. That opens in the home screen. Then I can close the other one.

ah, I see you marked the solution and got out. Phew!
