I just bought a Home Assistant Green. I pluged it into my router and went to http://homeassistant.local:8123/ and it’s asking me for a login. I have not done ant setup yet. I think it suposed to go though the onboarding process but it is only asking me for a login.
How d o I get started with the Home Assistant Green??

Looking at the onboarding page, you should get a prompt to “Create My Smart Home” then be prompted to create an account:
Is that not true for Green?
I’ve never used the app. The web interface works great on all the browsers on my mobile devices. I have enough apps already!
The web interface is fine for control.
The companion app provide sensors too, like gps for your phone, so you can make automations on leaving and arriving among other things.
Sounds as if your Green has been used already. Best approach may be to act as if you’ve forgotten your username and password. There’s a page on what to do here:
OK thanks, I just pulled it out of the box so maybe it was not built correctly at the factory. I’ll need to take it to another location where I have a monitor and keyboard so I can get into it or reload it from scratch.
Those instructions tell you how to reset your password. But if you don’t have an account yet they don’t work.
A little Googling let me to this.
I did a factory reset and now it’s working. Thanks for all your help everybody.
