How do I implement a lookup table?

Don’t agree with respect
We already do this using the heating control panel and we have success so sorry, you might be stating good points, but we do have it working.
but the external sensor built into the pump unit is not good. and the control panel in the loft.

so for this inconvenience, we then set system to operate in thermostat mode but this presents its own issues now it cycles on off on off. we want the “old way” back but automated nside HA to avoid having to visit the panel upstairs all the time and having control with other home automation on our mobiles :call_me_hand:

thanks anyway

p.s. sure there may be a better way a better precision bar as you say … but this curve way works for us and we’re happy with it we just need to automate it in HA

I am not saying you are not doing it.
I am saying you will never get it tuned in, because the goal keeps changing, which means all your offset calculations are a waste of time.
If you do not factor in all the variables, then you will be manually adjusting all the time anyway and all the offset calculations will just make it harder to hit the correct value.

Either accept that the manual offset adjustment is the way you do it or automate it further, so HA do it for you, since HA can adjust all the time.
HA will still not hit the target, but it will react faster to the changes, so the extremes will be eliminated.

thank you we shall consider your virw but as I say, The approach fully works using the panel upstairs but that’s inconvenient so I just want to automate it HA but it fully works through the seasons and we hardly to adjust it . …onced tuned in HA we’ll be able to work it out

but You are right there’s things like thermal heat loss, pipe diameter and material, lagging, refrigerant volumes, expansion all sorts of things It’s a highly technical matter but this is just a simple curve and it’s good enough for what we want

thank you
