I’ve been using Forecast Solar for a few days and I think it’s massively overpredicting by a factor of 3 or 4
I do have some shading in the morning and in the evening, but even during the central hours of the day when there is no shading, the instantaneous power produced is not in line with predicted production power.
I understand the integration uses the PVGIS database JRC Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS) - European Commission
However I think it’s not giving the same results.
The PVGIS predicts about 15kWh of production for my 810W setup at my location and panel orientation and that’s in line with what I actually produce (on average 0.5kWh per day). However the Forecast Solar integration seems to always predict between 0.7 an 1.8 kWh per day.
I have created some utility meter sensors for both predicted and actual production (only a couple of days ago so I will have actual meaningful data only at the end of February)
I’m supposed to get 30kWh in February, so we’ll see what the utility meter based on SolarForecast will say at the end of the month
