How is Google/Alexa seeing my HA objects?

This is a new setup, and I was surprised when I gave Google and Alexa a command to activate a scene, and it worked!

I was planning on using the Voice Assistant so I changed the alias of a scene to make it more palatable to say, and that also worked. Right away, no reboot, no syncing, etc.

I don’t remember connecting anything to Google or Amazon. How are they able to control my HA (and presumably other objects) scenes?

I have never used Nabu Casa before, so it can’t be that.

when you say objects, do you mean something like Phillips hue lights?

If your using an HA integration for those lights then it’s possible that same service is registered with your smart speaker account and the changes that you made in home assistant changed the cloud settings for that service that your speaker also access.

without more details I can only offer a guess.

Literally not enough info to answer. Some basics such as… What integrations are setup in HA? What does Amazon say about how it’s connected?

We’re just guessing without more input.

I personally use matter bridge so almost everything in ha can be exposed to any connected speaker that supports matter, it’s very useful for creating virtual switches that active scripts or automations if they are turned on or off.
