How much testing do the updates get?

I had an update that caused a login issue a few weeks back and I am asking if anyone knows what amount of testing on the different updates?

They use automated test suites and a week or so of beta releases: When is the next Home Assistant release? - Home Assistant

And NO MATTER WHAT you should still read the relnotes every release, and have a good tested backup you can roll back to.

They test. It is impossible to test every scenario.

Without the details, this issue might well be specific to your setup and not the HA software, especially if you expose HA to the Internet yourself where I’ve often seen this.

  1. Automated testing
  2. Manual testing
  3. Beta testing (for 1 week before a new major monthly release)

You can become a beta tester too, and as mentioned, always check the release notes.

Keep in mind that even though there is a core dev team, a cast amount of contributions are from the community and other maintainers. It all requires testing, but keep in mind this is high maintenance.
