I didn’t know how quick things can break in ha when developing integrations, i saw the problems and instead of being a good dad i went and got milk. How do you guys do it?
Did You test your integration, ordering milk ? ![]()
At the end of every ‘Backwards-incompatible changes’ section in all release notes is this…
If you are a custom integration developer and want to learn about changes and new features available for your integration: Be sure to follow our developer blog.

Yeah following the RSS feed of the developer bog is the main one. Checking the developer channel of the HA Discord server and reading the beta release notes should also help keep you informed. There’s an Alerts feed as well but that mainly tracks arsehole poor form moves by manufacturers / server owners.
I’m not a developer of HA integrations, but A user with a yolo approach to HA. I’m not going for a lean install - if something can integrate I will do it and see where it leads me. I do a lot with HA but always in a way that the world does not stop turning if HA breaks.
Every first wednesday of the month is a major release, the week before a beta period starts. I participate in the beta with my production HA to see if anything breaks. If it does I try to reach out to people to warn of problems ahead, and pretty much always developers react.
I must say, with the large number of integrations I have the number of things that break is not that big. The more people either have a test HA or try the beta, the more we can help you detect problems quickly.
But following the above threads will of course give you more time to react, and makes sure you are not reliant on the number of beta testers using your integrations.
