How stable is Home Assistant Connect ZWA-2?

I am wondering how stable the Home Assistant Connect ZWA-2 is for users using the antenna.

There were topics before about jams, etc. It has to do with the 800 series chip. Wonder if this problem is resolved or not.

No issues here with the ZWA-2 Z-Wave coordinator with 30+ Z-Wave devices from a variety of suppliers.

ISTR the 800-series issues were fixed some time ago after the Aeotec coordinator was released.

no problems
better connections to devices

Can confidently say 2 device that had spotty connectivity have greatly improved.
Plan to test devices at longer range (200-300) from controller in future

That is good to hear. I heard that some people were having problems with jams.

67 devices, no jams, much more direct connections and faster response times. Came from Aeotec Z-stick gen 5+

What could lead to people experiencing ‘jams’: after migration rebuilding routes takes a lot of time, traffic and periods of unresponsive devices… until it is done. You need to give the mesh time to figure out what works well and what not. This can even take a few days. But the end result is well worth it. It is unfair to compare the first day of a new controller with the previous mesh that had already settled a long time becore.

Regarding the “controller jammed” issue, it’s not sovled completely yet.And I doubt that it will ever been solved by Silabs.
The Zooz ZST/ZAC93 using a firmware based on the SDK 7.23.2, this is recommended by HA - >

The ZWA-2 FW is based on 7.23.1 (not recommend by HA).
Nonetheless, signal strength has a significant impact on the “controller jammed” issue.
Here, the ZWA is simply unbeatable due to its antenna. I’ve tested many contollers. The only controller that comes close to the ZWA is a ZAC93 with an external, i.e., retrofitted antenna.

Fair point. Guess having some patience is necessary as the routes need to be rebuild indeed. Thanks.
