I’d like to automate the running of a pool chlorinator, based upon a reading of the level of disinfectant in the pool. The chlorinator must only run when the pool filter is running, and that generally runs on a schedule. I can have a condition in my automation that checks whether the filter is running before turning the chlorinator on. But I’m wondering whether there is any possibility that, say, after I test for the filter being on, and before I turn the chlorinator on, something else turns the filter off (maybe it’s schedule turns it off). I don’t know how much “multi-tasking” goes on between automations, scripts, integrations etc. Any pointers much appreciated.
Can’t you make sure the pool chlorinator only runs when there is x minutes left of the pool filter schedule?
Unfortunately, I don’t think so. I use this card to set up all the schedules, and they change a bit depending on time of year etc. I don’t think there’s a way to determine how much time is left in a schedule, or even if a schedule is running.
