How to access hidden files in file editor or Studio Core Server

I have been trying for the whole weekend to access / view the hidden files on my Home Assistant Green. Basically I want to access .storage, but in either editor I can not see it and assume it is hidden. Is there anyone who can tell me how to make the hidden files visible? Thanks.

I can not remember how for sure, but my guess is that the addon needs to be configured for unprotected execution.
It should be a setting on the info page for the addon.
Remember to restart the addon fter the change.

in studio code go to settings and search ‘show hidden’ or ‘files exclude’
can’t remember 100% but I’ve managed to get my .storage showing if I remember correctly

Hello Jan,
Pretty simple really.
VSCode Server, hit the gear and under user and workspace tabs, find files: exclude.
It’s probably found right there in the Commonly Used section it opens to. But it might just show up there for me because I have set mine.

I don’t use the other editor…

I can see the folder and edit the files via samba share and set file explorer or whatever you use to show hidden files.

Excellent. Yes, once you know it it is indeed pretty simple.

Thanks a lot.

For the File Editor add-on, go to the Configuration, and you’ll see that some folders have been preselected in the exclude section.

Just remove the ones you want to access by clicking on the cross next to the name of the folder.

WARNING: These have been excluded by default for a reason, so please be careful when editing anything inside these folders.
