Hi, I’m new to HA. I now have a Node-Red instance which talks to several sensors via MQTT. I managed to get a connection from HA to my MQTT server. But I cannot find help to get the readings of these sensors. There are temperature, humidity, air pressure sensors homemade with ESP32 and ESP8266’s. The Thermostat is also an ESP8266 homemade. I also have an P1 reader with an ESP32.
Can you tell me where to find a tutorial or so to add these ?
The help I found told met to add an integration but I can only add 1 MQTT.
Oh btw I have my HA in Dutch but that will be no problem I think.
I suggest you create an MQTT Sensor entity for each physical sensor device.
I can help you configure an MQTT Sensor, for one of your temperature sensors, if you post the following information:
- The MQTT topic that the device uses to report temperature.
- An example of the temperature data (payload) that the device publishes to it MQTT topic.
I have found it out inbetween. My son send me an mqtt.yaml from him and from that I was able to get things working.
But thanks anyway. (I have it now running on an Pi4 with HaOS)
Post the configuration for the MQTT Sensor you created. It may help other people.
