I have several zigbee devices. connected to HA with ZHA
because some devices are further away , and sometimes not responing
i bought a aerotec ranges extender ZI
I did pair it but some how i cannot bind the sensor, which is far from the coordinator, to my extender
does sombody knows how to ?
Zigbee does not work that way. The network will rebuild as needed. It may take some time.
So it seaching itself for the best results then.
Oke then i will place my sensor ( screen) back to its position and monitor if it can comunicate
Added a new device ( smart plug) now i see again a clientis offline for 2 days already . how to bind again ? i addded a router ( zigbee extender) neadby but still no connection
Gonna paste what I wrote yesterday when I replied to a similar question:
“Older Aqara devices (using Zigbee 1.2 instead of Zigbee 3.0) were known to be hard headed and would try to maintain a connection to the first device you paired them to. Remove them from the network, find the closest zigbee device for each one, then click “add devices via this device” in the router device page. That should sort out your issue.”
i have several Aqara sensors
3x door/window sensor
5x Aqara Temperature And Humidity Sensor T1
but they are really not older then 1year
i can not find if they are zigbee 1.2 of 3.0
The T1 t&h sensors are zigbee 3.0. Your door/window sensors probably aren’t.
Assume they are not and follow the rest of the instructions in my previous post.
i have a 1 coordinator EZSP, where all clients are linked to
But i also added a zigbee extender router (Aeotec range extender Zi)
But no client is connected to this extender. i will removed this client
and will try to add this client again, throught this router (extender)
but i had try this before and i could not add device to zigbee through the router (extender). The client within a range of 10cm at the extender. or should it always be nearby the coordinator ? using Add devices via this device
Paring with the extender is an issue actually
Normally i pair close to the coordinator. And that works normally within 30sec
I now was pairing close to the router(extender), and that did took more time
I needed more then 1 min than it paired
After that i waited 5min to see the visualisation. And it worked
Tomorrow i will place it back to its original place

But strange thing is
Client is connected to a different router
I placed the client directly on the aerotec extender Zi, but is it connected to a inner smartplug which is 5meter away
