How to change recommended cards?

I added an Aqara presence sensor to my dashboard and it was added using the “recommended” card and looks like this:

When I edit the card and look at the code editor there isn’t much to change, e.g., card type:

When I add a p1 motion sensor it looks much cleaner like this:

How can I change the card used in the Aqara presence sensor to look like the Living Room Motion Sensor?

You don’t seem to have an option when added something to the dashboard except the recommended card.

The 2nd card you are showing is the ‘entities’ card. Add that one and select the information you want to show.

Thanks, I just discovered that only minutes ago. I was trying to change the existing card, which I don’t believe is possible. This works great though!

Note that the screenshot you posted of the yaml is of the title of the initial cards.

Oh! That would explain why it didn’t show much!

I just migrated from Hubitat to Home Assistant a couple of months ago. Much more to learn using the HA dash. The Hubitat dashboard pales by comparison!

You are looking at the section heading config. Not the card config.
