How to configure the ODROID-H4 Ultra for voice

HI all,

Pretty much a noob here. I have HA installed on a Synology NAS using Virtual Machine Manager. It’s up and running and I have a few automations in place. I’m trying to take it to the next level and set up local voice assistants. I picked up a home assistant voice preview edition and that does ok but not great. So next I grabbed an ODROID-H4 Ultra with HA OS preinstalled. And now I am completely lost.

I tried watching this video but I can’t even figure out where to start. When I load the ODROID in the browser (ODROID IP:8123), it gives me an option to start a new smart home which I don’t believe is what I want.

Can anyone point me in the right direction about how to get the ODROID setup and offload the voice processing there?

I’m sorry if this is a poorly worded question, I just don’t have a lot of knowledge right now and I don’t even know the right things to search to try to get started. If you give me a push in the right direction, I promise I will put in the time to try to figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

I just got my HA Voice Preview and ODROID-H4 Ultra bundle, so it’s the same package as yours. ODROID is not meant to offload voice processing, it is meant to be your new HA server with more CPU/RAM resources to allow for faster voice processing along with all other HA functions. In other words, it’s a replacement for your older HA, not an addition to it. In my case it’s replacing HA Green, which served me well, but not powerful enough to handle local voice processing and I did not want to rely on cloud voice services. Hope this helps.
