How to configure upstream device for cost measuring?

Hi.

I’m struggling with energy dashboard and “Grid total” sum.

I have sensor that is measuring total home energy used (“Energia Zbiorczo” on screenshot).
Then it is splitted on 3 phase meters (“Energia Faza A”, “Energia Faza B”, “Energia Faza C”, should sum in total to "Energia Zbiorczo).

And then some devices on each phase have their own meters.
Every device has set up “Upstream Device” accordingly.

For example “Komputer | TV | IT” power outlet, that is running on phase A has set “Energia Faza A” as its upstream device. And “Energia Faza A” has set “Energia Zbiorczo” as its upstream.
And “Energia Zbiorczo”, as main energy monitor for whole home has no Upstream Device set.

Costs and energy for “nested” devices seems to sum up properly (“Energia Faza A” + “…B” + “…C” are summed to “Energia Zbiorczo”).

But at the end – “Grid total”, which should show “Energia Zbiorczo” readings is summing all sub-devices, meaning some of them will be counted twice or three times.

Could someone advise is this proper behavior for this dashboard or did I messed something up?

You’re not meant to add individual devices to the energy grid section.

That should be strictly the sensor that shows what you import from the power company.

Individual devices like a TV should be in devices only.

Yes, but then I don’t get energy cost breakdown for individual/group devices, like I get in “Sources” section. And this breakdown is very handy.
Anyway, thanks for reply – Energy Dashboard documentation lacks details, so it is more like trial and error approach.

Yes that’s a limitation that we don’t support cost for devices.

But there’s no way to make it work correctly the way you’re trying to do it. The upstream/downstream devices works for devices only, not grid sources.

Bummer.
Thanks for replies, though.
I’ll stick with setup I have – It is very handy to have cost for main energy suckers, so I know what is the cost for dishwashing, fridge (not so much for this one, surprisingly), laundry and so one.
Multiplied Total Cost is only inconvenience, I can live with that.
