How to create shortpress/longpress automations with Shelly i3

Hi everyone,

I’ve successfully integrated a Shelly i3 into my setup (which is a couple of always-powered on Zigbee lamps and the i3 behind a momentary switch) using MQTT and the HACS MQTT discovery script.
It goes pretty well so far, I’ve created automations based on the “Shellyi3 Input 0 turned on” and “… off” trigger. The whole thing fires immediately, i.e. I am really happy that the light actually turns on the instant I press the button (I cannot feel any delay).

I’ve tried messing around with the “Shellyi3 Shortpush turned on/off” and “Shellyi3 Longpush turned on/off” triggers, but I get a confusing mess of things happening to my lamps. I am wondering how to best make use of these triggers, especially what they mean. Is shortpush on the “button down” event and off the “button up”?
What I would like to do is configure the whole thing in such a way, that the lights go on at 100% with a shortpush and 10% dimmed at a longpush (or dim down when at 100%).
What would be the best way to implement this?

Regards,

Pete
