How To Delete Unused Entities?

I recently renamed my thermostats and I’m getting old entries in my dashboard. Is there a way to get rid of these?

ETA: Disregard. I figured it out by editing the YAML. Not exactly in my comfort zone, but I was also able to add scene buttons. All good, thanks!

Generally entities cannot be removed if their integration is still active in HA. You can usually disable the integration, restart HA and then the grayed out delete button should be active.

Good thing I make backups along the way.

Restored from a previous version and the entities are shown. I guess when I renamed the thermostats from “Living Room Thermostat” to “Thermostat MBR” and “Thermostat LR” (to make them easier to find and sort), these got left behind. But what’s odd is that I’m not seeing their respective entities, i.e. ‘weather.themosat_LR’ so I’m not quite sure how to clean this up.

Any help is appreciated.

Click on the weather entity and click the cog(settings) top right. Rename the entity and then click update.

What’s weird is that I have a weather entity for the LR but not the MBR, though they’re the same identical units.

When I renamed the thermostats, the entities did rename, but they’re not showing correctly in the dashboard. It’s not necessarily a problem, but it does make me wonder what else might not be working properly. I’ve disabled the entities for now pending further analysis.

Thanks for your help!
