How to get AC current data?

Hello all,
I have been trying to measure AC current (30A+ 220v) for a while now, I tried WCS1700 and it doesn’t seem to work or I haven’t used it correctly, I am looking for a tested solution or a working way on how to do it with WCS1700, or alternatively a way to read a 7 segment screen from a cheap/dumb current sensor

Thank you so much as this have been bothering me for a while now…

How much current?

The Shelly EM works well and is available with 120A CTs. The Shelly 1PM (no CT) is good for 16A.

Or you can DIY it with one of these:

Sorry I forgot to mention it, 30A+ on 220vAC

You can pass the cable through the clamp twice to make it 50A instead of 100A max.

You just need to divide the readings in ESPHome by 2.

Thank you so much I will look for it or order it online (third world country mail).
But as you can see I already have the WCS1700 is it not good enough for the job?

Note that you also have these PZEM things with a clamp that opens, means you should not have to fumble with re/connecting a ‘live’ cable

The second one I linked to does have a split CT. However they are after help with their Hall effect sensor, not an alternate device (I misread the post).
