How to I change the state names of an integration entity

I am using the UI never used yaml.

Home Assistant for one of my integrations, how do I change the entity state name? Pic has on and off. I want to change it to home and away. I do not know where to look in Home Assistant to make the change. I had to remove Unifi and add it back. Before hand for my mobile devices I had ‘home’ and ‘away’ but now it says ‘on’ and ‘off’

How do I change the name so it can say ‘home’ and ‘away’ and where do I find it.

What I see now

This is old before I removed the Unifi integration

What is the integration you are using?

The Mobile App integration offers a Home/Away diagnostic entity.

You can’t. That’s a switch. It has the states on, off under the hood, which is then translated by your UI to On, Off (Or on/off in your native language).

You are likely looking at the wrong entity. Unifi will create your device with a home/away device_tracker still. The entity is likely disabled, just enable it.

I see now. I am using the Unifi Network integration. Is there something else I need to pick to get the ‘home’ and ‘away’ as I somehow did it over a year back.

I thought that was selected by default. Here is what I have checked when I added the Unifi integration

That could be the case, but you actually have to see if it created it. You’re looking at the integration settings, look at the devices the integration created.

As I look deeper. I only see the state entity for ‘away’ and ‘home’ just on Unifi devices: APs, switch, UCG gateway. It is not adding it to all devices as it did prior when I did this a year back

When I look at the other non-Unifi devices like my Samsung mobile and all the iPhones in the house they only have the switch entity and nothing for the network tracking

phones typically randomize their mac, so you’d have to uncheck that feature in options

Thanks for the. I other thread where my Unifi add 57,000 mac addresses and etc into HA I could not open the integration for Unifion posted just this week. I was told to check that to prevent that from happening. So it sounds like it is needed to get the home/away status…?
