How to integrate HASS to Thinknx

Hi,

I just moved into my house, there are some domotic in place, mostly to setup heating and also providing temperature and humidity for most rooms. I obviously would like to integrate those with Home Assistant.

The whole solution revolves around a screen that is a “thinknx” server( ThinKnx Envision Touch Server ): Is there any integration possible with HomeAssistant? Is this considered as a Thinknx router that I could try to connect directly through the KNX plugin?

Should be possible to communicate via knx with it (or better, with the devices it controls) - if you have knowledge of the used group addresses.

Hi,

But my understanding is that knx is a bus that does not work on rj45, how would I interact with it?

Knx can work over IP too. That’s what a “Knx IP Router” or “Knx IP interface” does.

Okay, at my home, what I’ve is just all those sensors connected on 2 small wire, and then this Thinknx envision touch server connected to it, so I tought this was my knx router with which I should interact, but I can’t figure out.

According to its website, it can act as Knx router. That means it can connect Knx TP (2 wires) to IP.
Do you have a license for ETS and the project file (.knxproj)?

The electrician provided me the knxproj file(and a .tup one), but I don’t have a license for ETS. Is this mandatory to enable those features?

No, but it is helpful. You’d need some basic knowledge about the system too though.
Otherwise, ask your installer to assist you with the configuration of the knx entities.

I’ve managed, with Thinknx UP to enable the KNX router on the envision  Thank you!

But now I only see some diagnostic entity of the router itselfs. Should this discover automatically the entities(and then there still something else to enable), or should I configure them myself?

No. KNX - Home Assistant

I’ve been able to add my different temperatures, thank you very much!
