Hi all. I have HA installed on a mini pc running just HAOS. I have a Sonoff Max Dongle as my Thread radio and running Open Thread app and integration.
My Android phone is showing the HA Thread network as “unavailable”, so it can’t make it the preferred network. How do I make it available?
I get an error message when I tap on it in the Settings/Google Services/Thread Network page that says “Unavailable Network. To access this network, set up this device with the manufacturer’s app you used to set up this network”. I’ve been all over the companion app, and i cannot figure out how to do that.
Well, maybe, but I think what I needed was for the phone to have the credentials for the HA thread network. I actually found a video that tells you that, on your phone, you go into the Settings/Companion App/Troubleshooting/Sync Thread Credentials. That finally did it for me. That certainly was not self-evident.
What I need now though, is how you get the one time code from that network so I can pair another border router to it. What I’ve been able to find, you go into the Open Thread Border Router app, and then Terminal. My app doesn’t have that option. I do have Terminal & SSH installed. I tried putting the command they show you in there, but it just says Command Not Found or something. It would be so nice if these procedures didn’t change with every new release. Existing documentation and articles are often outdated.
Okay, so I found out you don’t need the 9 digit code to get the Smartthings hub into your HA thread network. There’s an Automate Your Life video called Stop Buying Matter Devices Until You Fix this where he tells all of what you need to do. I was able to get BOTH my Smartthings hub AND my Aqara M3 onto my HA thread network. Very pleased! Although my Nanoleaf bulbs are still giving me trouble for some reason.
