How to monitor power with the Shelly Plug S plus?

Hi everybody,

I would like to monitor the power of my pedelec-battery-charger using a Shelly Plug S plus. The Shelly plug measures the power of the AC-input-power of the charger. On my ha dashboard I created an entity card and a history graph card, both showing the power entity.

Some problems did occur:

  1. The entity card is not updated in ha. Whereas the power of the charger slightly decreases or increases (can be observed in the plug’s webserver), the value displayed by the entity card does not change. It remains static showing only the initial power value when switching on the Shelly plug.
  2. As a result of the above the history graph does not show any graph. It displays a message like “No history available”.

What can I do in order to obtain a time-depending graph of the charging power?

What I try to achieve: The charging power (Bosch 750 Wh power tube) is about 180 W. When charging comes to an end the power drops to around 160 W and lower. I would like to configure an automation which switches off the Shelly plug, when the power drop is noticed by ha.

Sorry, I have to correct myself in number 2 of my above post:
The history graph got lost after leaving the ha-dashboard, swapping to the Shelly plug webserver and coming back to ha dashboard again. The reason for this was: I had excluded all entities from my recorder besides those I explicitly listed in my configuration yaml. After adding the shelly power entity to be recorded, the history graph does work.
