How to mount a new SSD to put in it media files and backups for Home Assistant?

Hi, my Intel NUC (but I think this applies also on raspberry) is full, so I bought an external SSD driver in which I want to store all backups and all media from FRIGATE addon (video recordings).

ANy hint on which approach?

Tell us what type of HA installation you use, first (HassOS?)

My intel NUC, runs proxmox, on which I installed (if I remember correctly, sorry has been long time I did it ) this:

So yes, I think I have HASSOS

Then you probably have to look on how to mount your SSD under proxmox, then move your HassOS VM over there.

this I want to avoid. Is not possible to mount external drive and keep some files there for HAssOS?

Avoid what?
Anyway, you’ll have to do something on proxmox (mount, or maybe attach the SSD device to the VM), so that’s where you have to start.

HassOS is fine where it is now, do not want to move it. I want that the media will be stored not on the current SSD, but on the external SSD

I’d like to do the same. Any Idea…only media on external use
