Yes i can edit the state stored to clear this entry up, but is there any method on the roadmap to clean up the Long Term Stats that are ruined for, well, a very Long Time!
Nice and shiny new features get rolled out and the product improved, but are there plans to help correct these bursts other than to roll back my database?
Is there no way we can clear up short term stats and then re-run the Long Term Stats creation???
There’s no native way to correct the value in the recorder’s states history, but that will get purged after 10 days anyway (unless you changed the default value).
For the long-term statistics that are generated hourly and retained indefinitely: yes there is a native way to correct the issue:
Settings → Tools → Statistics
Find the entity you want to correct, then click on the icon on the right with an uphill graph with a line.

As i have seen with other posters, this does not help with all sensors, maybe im being unlucky with the sensor type as i quite often get this with Zigbee sensors after a power outage
I didn’t say to edit the state. I said to edit the statistics. Those are two fundamentally different things in home assistant.
I am not aware of any current issues with the statistics adjustment process; usually issues arise from the confusion between an entity’s state (and history) and its associated statistics (and energy dashboard) and why editing either the state or the statistics doesn’t affect the other.
