How to remove a Z-Wave device that is missing from the network?

Hi from France

I would like to remove a device that I had added via Z-Wave. This device is no longer on the Z-Wave network, so it is considered “dead.”

I tried going through Settings > Devices & Services > Z-Wave and selecting the device I want to remove: clicking the 3 dots to the right of “Configure,” selecting “Remove,” and then confirming the removal in the pop-up window… but it’s still there!

I also tried going through Z-Wave JS > [relevant device] > Advanced > Failed node > Remove… but it’s still there!

Can you help me?

Best regards.

Hi,

I don’t know about ZJS specifically, but have had issues with past exclusions on coordinators with old firmware.

It was a while ago, but openHAB and early HA didn’t exclude and the coordinator stopped the Z-Wave network for a 120S timeout a few times

After updating the coordinator firmware, all worked - including the exclude.

Basically, HA is only part of the story - the coordinator needs to do the work. A firmware update might be worth a try (RaZberry - issues, Aeon v3+ - issues, now ZWA-2 - AOK).

Is there a “Force Remove” option?
