How to remove the backplate from a Reolink doorbell?

Okay, I feel silly posting this. I’m unable to remove the backplate from this Reolink doorbell. I push the release mechanism circled in red, and nothing happens. AI said to slide it off. With the release pushed in, nothing budges. The first reference to it in the users guide shows the plate already removed.

Can someone tell me how to remove this baseplate?

-Thanks

LLM’s suck.
Read an actual link below that not the search summary…

Thanks. Before I continue, can you tell me if this doorbell works WITHOUT an ethernet connection?

There are a bunch of models, so probably.
I suggest having some kind of power wire, however.

Here is a 1 step instruction. I still don’t get it! I’ve pressed the button and tried pushing, pulling, sliding, nothing. The plate and doorbell itself seem immovable when pressing the button.

Sometimes I worry me! There was actually a backplate buried in the bottom of the white box in white wrapping paper that I did not see until now.
