I’m trying to migrate from a ZST10 to a ZST39. I’ve done the NVM backup on the ZST10 But not sure how to restore it to the ZST39. I don’t think it’s a matter of unplugging the ZST10 and then plugging in the ZST39. How does the system recognize the ZST39? Do you have to do an inclusion with it first to be able to use it?
You unplug the old. Plug in the new and set it up. JS/JSUI must see the new stick as a valid device before you can restore the NVM. Then restore the NVM to it.
If you’re using JSUI it’s helpful to turn off its link back to HA while you do the procedure else things get weird… there’s topics on the process here if you search.
How do you get JS/JSUI to see the new stick once it’s plugged it? Do you have to add it through inclusion?
No you have to make sure the config file is set up properly to address the USB stick
The issue was I needed to change the serial port in Zwave JS UI Zwave settings to use the 800 controller. It was still pointing to the 700 controller, even though it was the same physical USB port. I’ve never seen having to do that in any posts. Maybe everyone else has a more generic setting for their USB port that isn’t controller specific.
I currently have an old HUSBZB-1 running SDK 6.51.6 and I’d like to migrate to a Zooz 800. I’m running Zwave JS UI and roughly understand the process of making an NVM backup and loading the backup onto the new stick. However I read above that you need SDK 6.6.1 or later for this to work. Is this still the case? I’ve seen instructions on how to upgrade the HUSBZB-1, though its a bit involved and I’d like to avoid having to upgrade the firmware if possibile.
Yes, that’s still accurate, except the minimum SDK is v6.61, not v6.6.
