How to Restore HA from a backup?

After updating HA to 2025.2.5 I was faced with the fact that Matter integration did not work. Received Failed to get Matter server add-on. Reloading the AddOn or restarting HA did not help. I tried deleting Matter, restarting and reinstalling it, but cannot load it. receiving a similar error: Failed to get Matter server add-on.

Now where I cannot believe at all, what is going on is that there is no option to restore from backup. What purpose has a backup, when I am not able to do a restore? Is it true, that I would have to install HS completely from scratch and then at startup I would be asked if I’d like to restore from a backup? Really? This is the restore procedure?
If anyone can show me a better way to get back to my working instance of HA I would be delighted. The “old” version is not that old. Maybe I skipped one update but not more. Downloaded the backup file already and the emergency backup kit as well. I just don’t want to start from scratch.

What do you mean? Go to Settings - System - Backups, click your preferred backup, optionally select only your Matter Addon & hit restore.

It might not be super intuitive, but it’s definitely there.

Thank you very much for the fast reply and providing the right solution. I was indeed now able to restore from one of my backups. I had not looked close enough to find that out myself.
