Can work over POE, but it does not transport Zigbee data over Ethernet.
Sorry all, completely forgot to post an update for my situation. After messaging back and forth with their Support, they believe the 1st SLZB-06M I received is defective. Theyâve sent me a replacement and it works fine so far.
One thing to note is that the smaller Unifi APs (the one with 3 jacks) are not able to power it as PoE, but it will work (as PoE) if using the larger Unifi APs (8+ jacks).
After several firmware updates & months later, I got my defective one partially working but only if connected via WiFi. Even then, it still loses connection every so often & needs reset. (Good thing it isnât acting as a coordinator!) The PoE portion does not work at all on this glitchy one.
To avoid conflicts, I gave them both different names and set them both up as routers/repeaters only. The 1st_SLZB-06M (glitchy one) is on the second floor, plugged into usb-wall outlet and connected via WiFi. I initially had to plug it into my desktop via USB to âtrickâ it into switching to USB mode, and then I was able to move/plug it into the wall (for power). The 2nd_SLZB-06M (new one) is on the 1st floor, connected via PoE using a Unifi AP with 8 jacks. Both are currently on firmware version 20250220 (radio) & v3.0.8 (core).
2nd_SLZB-06Mâs relevant PoE settings:
- mode > radio mode: zigbee router
- mode > connection mode: ethernet
1st_SLZB-06Mâs relevant WiFi + USB settings:
- mode > radio mode: zigbee router
- mode > connection mode: wifi
- check the box that says âkeep on wifi in usb modeâ
- network > wifi setup: run it through âscan for wifi networksâ to get it set up on wifi
