HA adds renamed entities (added “_2”) from MQTT if a device is removed and added again. I learned that this could be prevented by using unique identifiers for the entities, but this might have been done wrong in some devices and causes problems.
On the other hand, it does not look necessary to always add new (renamed, indexed) entities if it is not explicitly requested.
Isn’t there a switch to block this habit?
Zigbee2MQTT handles adding new devices way smarter by allowing or not allowing it.

What’s this setting called in Z2M? I must have missed it.
