Hi,
I had happen this to me twice, I had done some changes and started a backup, but then remembered something else I forgot to change, and wanted to cancel the already started backup.
I did not found a way on how to do this, neither a search on the forum showed me any results…
So, is there a way on how to stop/cancel an currently ongoing backup ?

Have a beer until its done looks the best way in my eyes.
Cancelling a backup is also work for the machine.
You can continue working on you config, while backup is busy…
Well the core question is still valid, especially if you have several types of predefined backup tasks and choose the wrong one (which takes 4x as long as the one you wanted to start) - speaking for a friend of mine 
Unfortunately there seems to be no supervisor service to cancel started backups afaics.
