Hi,
Because of the same problem I came across this post and another one here:
My basic installation is in german, and it also tells me that some entity Id’s are generated in german and others in english.
I don’t want to rename them manually either, as it would create unnecessary overhead, and Home Assistant advises against manually maintaining entity Id’s anyway.
I think one reason for this behavior could be that some integrations provide multiple languages, i.e., translations, while others don’t, resulting in this language mix in the entity Id’s.
It would certainly be nice to have everything in your preferred/native language, but I think that will remain wishful thinking for many people due to the large number of languages that would need to be supported.
For my part, I would prefer to have all entity Id’s completely in english. Everyone can then customize the display names for themselves and in their preferred language.
However, it bothers me that Home Assistant doesn’t offer a way to define a fixed language for entity Id’s, e.g., english, so that all entity Id’s are always generated in english, regardless of any translations that may be provided (I think the native language for entity Id’s is always english)!
This would at least allow for a consistent design of the entity Id’s.
Does anyone else have these problems and perhaps know a solution?
Thanks
BG
