How to troubleshoot "TTS error: xxx.mp3 not recognised"

Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Error on load tts: EsFKBjWZFyMl3kd6maSlkg.mp3 was not recognized!

The error appears on restart, then every time TTS is used. It doesn’t seem to have any effect on the functioning of TTS, it’s just filling up my log.

I think that’s a file in the cache. I manually deleted TTS’s cache once and I saw that a lot until it built the cache back up or something. I don’t delete that any more as the files are purged regularly anyway.

Try turning the cache off for TTS and see if it is better, or if the cache is off, turn it on. I believe default is on.

Thanks for the suggestion. Cache was off and is now on - I’ll let it build back up.

I tried creating a file called l9magslSm_bUUmM_VCD_-A.mp3 in the \tts folder, but it did not help

I turned cache on and filtered the error messages out for a few days. Removed the filter today and no more errors.

I’m using Piper TTS and can find no way to turn the cache on or off, how did you do it?

If you go to Developer Tools | Actions and type TTS in the action box you should see the TTS commands available.

I cleared the cache with the “Clear TTS cache” command. (You can check whether it has worked by looking in the config/tts folder, which should then be empty.)

If you then select “Say a message with ” you should get something like this:

I turned on the switch in the cache row and sent a TTS message, and the cache started filling again. Edit: Actually messages may be cached by default, making this bit unnecessary. Can’t find any docs.

The error message continued for a while, but eventually it stopped appearing.

If the error is spamming your log you should be able to filter it out by putting something like this in your configuration.yaml:
