I tried on a i3, 8Gb to install HAOS. After some trial and error I managed to install a copy. But I saw I cannot ssh anymore into my host computer. ( The Terminal & SSH add-on does not provide access to the underlying host file system.) I am used to monitoring my hots with gethomepage and glances. There is an addon Glances available but it demands there is an install of glances on the host system. The above quote from HA manual says I cannot install something on my host system. Is everything new an improvement, did HA became to big and complex, or am I a grumpy old man with old habbits?
I assume you mean the Glances integration?
There’s an add-on:
I don’t use it anymore (used to, but whatever parameters I wanted I’m getting through the native System Monitor integration now).
HA OS is an appliance that manages the OS for you. You are not expected to mess with it. You do have other options though.
The add-on linked above or the core System Monitor integration if you only need the system values in Home Assistant:
