How to use Tailscale to access two Home Assistants in UK & SA from Companion App

I control two Nabu Casas, one in the UK and one in South Africa. Both running two different Tailscale Networks. The SA Home Assistant is shared to teh UK Tailscale Network.

The Full Home Assistant Documentation Link is broken so I cannot use that.

I can access the SA HA from the browser on my iPad & iphone via Tailscale. I cannot get the Companion App to find the SA HA on my iPad or iPhone. Neither the Magic Link and IP approach work but give different results.

Can’t see how to attach the logfiles, or do I just paste the text from the log file?

I’d really love to find a document that describes how to set up access from a shared Tailscale Home Assistant to my Tailscale. Or some key pointers

Error: NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1004 “Could not connect to the server” (errno 61 = connection refused) at https://100.72.30.49/

What this means: DNS resolved fine this time (no more -1003), but the TCP connection was actively refused. Something is listening for Bonjour on that address but nothing is answering HTTPS on it — likely one of:

**•	That IP isn’t actually the HA Green’s Tailscale IP — it may be a stale/cached Bonjour entry for something else on the Tailnet (worth double-checking against Martin’s actual HA Green Tailscale IP)**

**•	HA Green’s web server isn’t up/reachable on port 443 at that address right now**

**•	A firewall or ACL on the Tailscale network is blocking that port between your device and SA node**

Can you confirm 100.72.30.49 is actually Martin’s Home Assistant Green’s Tailscale IP? And is Tailscale definitely showing “Connected” on your device right now?

Tailscale does not allow you to be on two separate tailnets at the same time. If you want to be able to access both HA systems without switching tailnets, then you need to move one of them to the tailnet that you want to use.

Otherwise, you are going to have to switch your mobile device between the tailnet that has the HA that you want to access.

That’s the only way you’re going to be able to access the systems without making public access a thing.

Can you switch to Cloudflare? I have 2 HA 300 miles away from each other. I bought 2 domain names , and add 2 servers to my Android HA companion app. To switch between them you just need to swipe with 3 fingers from left or right sides of the phone screen.
