Hi,
My name is Arnold and I am new to the forum. I would like to start using Home Assistant and am now researching what I need.I can buy an HP ThinClient T630, complete with the latest version of Home assistant. Can I use it directly for Zigbee and Tuya and KaKu? Or do I need additional hardware or software? If so, what do you guys recommend me?
regards,
English please, or this topic will be closed.
T630 probably is good, I have HA on a T610
For Zigbee you will need a Zigbee stick
For KAKU either a RFLink (can be self-built for about €25) or a RfxTrx
I run 2 hp T630s, one runs proxmox with HA, openmediavault, pihole, heindall dash and unfi network, its been running now for 8 months without issue. This one has been upgraded to 16gb ram and larger SSD.
The other one runs Frigate with a coral a=e key for 6 cameras and an Immich galley with 18000 images. This has been upgraded to 8gb ram and larger ssd. This one has bee running this for 6 months without issue, the cpu normally sits at between 40% and 80%.
I would not buy any kit if it has HA already installed as you have no idea what they might have added to it. Its easy to install.
Can you recommend a YouTube link how to install?
Its all.in the docs.
And for KAKU / 433mHz stuff you can also use the Sonoff RF Bridge R2.
