I’ve gone through a couple release cycles hoping my hue issues would resolve, but they have not. I haven’t seen much chatter on the forums so I’m starting to wonder if it’s my setup.
No matter what my configuration, my lights basically show as unavailable every few minutes or so and is flooding my logbook. The lights work intermittently, but if they are “unavailable” when an automation triggers they won’t work or there is a delay.
I moved my hue hub thinking there may be interference as it was right below one of my unifi APs, but that did not help.
I’m running 0.70 and my configuration is correct per the docs. I also tried deleting the config and just using discovery, but I have the same behavior. I’ve tried both true/false for the “allow unreachable” config but that doesn’t seem to do anything so I’m not even sure what its for.
Upgraded to 0.70.1, still seeing the same behavior. This is frustrating as I have quite a few Hue bulbs and sensors. My automations are working intermittently if the bulb is not available when it triggers.
You see the lights as unavailable in hue app or just in HA? Long shot, but maybe you have some interference on the zigbee network, so try to fix the wifi channel instead of let the unifi choose one. I had to move mine from channel 11 as it was messing with my xiaomi devices (zigbee).
Thanks for the suggestions all. I did delete the deps folder and that did not help.
I also tried changing the zigbee channel through the hue app, which I think helped operation a bit but did not solve the log spamming issue. I will keep tinkering.
Thanks
Hi Brett, do you still have this issue? My log also goes crazy on the hue unavailable / off logs. Also looking for a solution to get things right again.
Tim, Yes I’m still having the issue. Changing the zigbee channel in the hue app helped a little bit, but I still have the log spamming issue. It’s weird though because it is not for all of my hue lights. Only certain lights seem to fill the log.
I was/am also having issue’s with my HUE setup. Kept getting some of the lights going the same as you unavailable, read on here to setup my config like this,
Now they dont show up as unavailable now, but I dont think its fixed the problem 100%, as sometimes, every now and again, one light won’t turn on in the scene, and I have the press the action again to get it to light up, or switch off. Also running a Unifi AP, that I thought was a problem, so moved the hue hub to the loft to try and eliminate interference, but it still seems to be happening. Lights are always working all ok in the HUE app. I haven’t been messing around with HA for long, but I am pretty sure when I first setup HASS.iO a while back I didn’t have this problem, but now running on Hassbian, and a new version, getting these issues.
