I have HA running on an RPi (with Wifi - no ethernet, if that matters). I do not have the Hue bridge set to have a static IP so it can have a different IP address after I experience a power outage, or if I have to restart my router.
SO what I am seeing is if I lose power, after I get power back, my HA auto detects the Hue bridge again, and I am having to re “Configure” it to add it back into my system.
From some other posts related to Hue Bridges and Power outages, it seems like others are not having this issue. What am I doing wrong?
When you configure the Hue bridge from HA, it writes a token to a file in your HA configuration directory. That token authenticates the HA communication with the Hue bridge. This is the content of the file. {"10.10.10.49": {"username": "wInXffrEdsXXXXXXXXXmR2x"}}
I would set up a DHCP reservation at your router, so your Hue gets the same IP every restart.
