I have some doubts about voice assistant PE and openwakeword config

This are my doubts…
As far as I know, If I buy a voice assistant PE, I don’t need the OpenWakeWord addon anymore, right? Because the wake word will be recognised by the voice assistant PE hardware.
So, If I don’t need the addon anymore…could voice assistant PE do the OpenWakeWord addon job for the old M5stack Atom Echo I have, or I need the addon for this yet?

thanks

Hi Josep, the Atom Echo is capable for on-device wakeword with this ESPHOme code: wake-word-voice-assistants/m5stack-atom-echo/m5stack-atom-echo.yaml at 5a2aff4b9a85ffef728a65666cd40badc8791ef3 · esphome/wake-word-voice-assistants · GitHub

Thanks for the answer. I thought that to have wake word recognition in the device firmware, at least an S3 was needed. Does it work correctly on the Atom Echo? Is it quite accurate and fast?

It works surprisingly well.
Check out the videdo on this page: $13 voice assistant for Home Assistant - Home Assistant

And I think the Echo has a S3.
But it’s also dual core, 240MHz SoC
