I want to assistant to be able to send tts to select speakers

Ive been breaking my head on how to get this to work, so far no luck - only stress.

I have Piper installed and Running as a container, so tts should work.

My goal is to Bé able to open the assistant and type/say a command like “Tell my wife in the home office that it’s time for dinner”
The message and the rooms wil be diffrent ( kind of like a one side tts intercom to a certain room in the house)

Last night i was able to run a script that said something on the kitchen speaker… but i never succeed in going through the assistant.

What am i doing wrong ?

Explain to me like i have brain damage, becsuse i actually have brain damage. (No joke)

How open-ended are you needing it to be?

If it’s a relatively small list of specific things, this would be easy. Could even get a fairly large set of variations with the wildcards.

Could you specify more precisely what you are using and what you tried?

Which integration are your using for your speakers to show up in HA as media players?
Which kind of assistant do you use (LLM, speech to phrase)?

TTS “should” work, doesn’t sound like you’re certain. :wink:
Test it:
Developer Tools → Actions → Search for tts services available → Test with your speakers
