Can I hide the media option in the sidebar of HomeAssistant?
Yes. Long click/press the menu title. The icons will start jiggling with an X next to them. Press the X to to hide. You can also drag and drop to re-arrange. Click the title again to stop editing.
Thank you.
Is this method persistent?
When I log out and log in again, it still gets displayed, which is causing an issue.
From my understanding, no. One you logout it reverts to the default settings. There be a workaround, but I am unaware of it.
If the settings cannot be persisted, the purpose of having these settings becomes unclear, doesn’t it?
It’s not ideal. There are Feature requests and WTH posts about making the settings tied to a user instead of the browser.
Some folks utilize the custom:sidebar
Thank you! I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes.
Appreciate the Like/Solution, the solution worked well?
Yes, it worked. I was able to hide the existing items with hide_all: true
and display the ones I wanted, so it was very helpful. Thank you!
I can display it by changing the order and hiding items from the sidebar, but I can only hope that there are no users in my environment who will cause trouble
If that becomes an issue, feel free to create a new thread. No guarantees, but there may be adjustments to control that scenario. I have knowledge with the custom:sidebar, but haven’t worked specifically with that card in the past 6 months.
