I want to take 4 digital inputs, to essentially serve as an on/off signal, and integrate this into Home Assistant. The inputs have 13v running through them normally, then drop to 0v when each is activated. I only need to end up with a binary active/not active, hopefully to be able to get this monitorable on my phone / trigger an alert on my phone.
The context here is a Honeywell Accenta G4 wired home alarm, that has 4x remote signalling output terminals, as well as a 13v supply terminal.
I’m hoping to find a single neat device for this. I don’t mind a bit of fiddling, but I want to keep it simple really rather than a complex DIY project (though if that’s the only way I’ll have to!)
I don’t need to control the alarm. I don’t currently have hubs for other communication methods (zigbee/matter), hence looking at wifi.
I don’t want something that ‘takes over the alarm computer’, like the Konnected or similar.
I wondered if the Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 was going to be it, but I’m wondering if it can only work on zero-voltage open/closed circuit rather than a voltage trigger (had a proposed wiring diagram below that I put on Shelly Support FB group).
Seen mentions of ESP32 and ESP8266, but looking for ideas of something that just does the job without many other functions I don’t need, and without having to get the soldering iron out and making my own circuit boards!
