I now have two Fibargroup Dimmer 2s, model FGD212. They both report the same firmware version, 3.5; but when I compare their configuration parameters in detail, they have subtle differences. For example, the older one - commissioned a couple of years ago - has
Parameter 1 “Minimum brightness level”
and the new one has
Parameter 1 “Minimum Brightness Level”
There are more interesting differences later in the set.
What is going on here? I suppose, the Z-Wave JS Device Database has been refined over time and that the parameter names and descriptions are read from it exactly once when the device is added to the Z-Wave JS integration. Is that right?
Let’s say significantly better information about the parameters for a device had been added to the database. How could I refresh my device in HA to pick that up? Would I simply need to remove and readd it?
As far as I am aware the old valid sensor is Temperature which can be wired in to some extra terminals, other hidden sensors such as Water Alarm Temperature, Alarm Level, Motion, CO2 are bogus.
On the first snip, ehe additional Thermostat entity under Controls is not relevant as this is associated with a custom component.
This is likely related to when you added them and the version of the addon/integration. Translations have been modified for entities, and entities might have been ‘discovered’ in the device info that previously were not, but also are not implemented for the device. Most likely, if you would pair both again, they’d look the same.
try reinterview the device with missing sensors. If they are available they will show.
If the actual device parameters dont match then you can manually change them in zwavejsui.
in HA you can change parameters at device >> device info >> configure
