IKEA Button commissioning tip!

I was having great trouble commissioning my IKEA buttons. The matter logs were showing the button was being discovered, but then it would disappear less than a second later and commissioning would fail.

And of course, there is no pairing code on the actual device. So i couldnt put the code in manually!

AI guided me however, to take a picture of the barcode, and have google lens convert it into a code. (MT:…)

I then went into the Matter server web interface on HA and hit “Commission” and it then asked for the share code. I inputted the MT:… code and low and behold it commissioned straight away!!

I thought I would share as many people seem to be having similar issues.

That’s strange, both my BILRESA scroll and BILRESA dual button have the pairing code printed on the back of the device, right below the QR code.

It’s still a good tip since the QR has more information than the pairing code.

Edit: Mind you have to remove the magnetic plate of the back to see it, took me a while to realize that wasn’t part of the button :sweat_smile:
