Ikea Dirigera vs. generic SLZB-06M?

I’m new to Zigbee. I actually don’t have a single device connected using it yet. So I was wondering why I should prefer some generic device like eg. SLZB-06M over an Ikea Dirigera? Am I comparing apples with oranges? Price wise they’re similar where I’m living. But Ikea has a somewhat better WAF, while the geek in me would probably go with the more bare bone SLZB.

The Ikea Dirigera works with Ikea devices and some bulbs from other brands. The SLZB works with almost all devices from a lot of different brands

Ok, got it. Zigbee isn’t just Zigbee in many commercial offerings. How sad… Thanks for the info!

The Dirigera hub happily pairs with zigbee devices if they expose standard zigbee actions and states, and the app has an explicit “other devices” pairing option. It’s not in any way picky about the device being Ikea.

Anything that’s using a Tuya zigbee module is out, but that’s Tuya’s fault.
