Ikea Kajplats Zigbee mode

Have you tried measuring a White ambiance version of the bulb. The one which has 575lm?

Hmm it’s connecting to ZHA, and then out of nowhere after few secs it is unavailable, tried to add some custom quirks there, but without any success…

I was not able to add it with Zigbee I do have the Kajplats 806lm

at the end I configure it with matter

I was curious to try z2m before but I did actually switch from zha exactly to pair this bulb.

Nvm, upgraded my old sonoff zbbridge to Home Assistant ZBT-2 and it works.

I have the same bulb, firmware 1.0.28. Even with the script i could not get it connected. Moved it besides the controller (sonoff) that did not work. It only got connected when i initated a touchlink scan when the bulb was in paring mode…

i can confirm i got it working (a KAJPLATS E27 bulb, white spectrum, globe, clear, 470 lm (LED2411G3)) with 15x poweroff/on with following setup:

The bulb seems fully supported now… :tada:

This worked like a charm ! The video sure helped me to get it working.
thx!

I was able to connect all my bulbs, but the Big Filament ones were tricky (only 2 of 4 worked).

The only problem I have with the connected ones is that the red is totally off. It is Pink and not Red. Not sure if it’s the bulbs or because I connected them via Zigbee. Anyone got the same problem?

I’m using Zigbee gateway ConBee II:
Kajplats just work super fine, as they were Philips Hues (which are explicitly super Zigbee-compatible).
I compared the benchmark of Kajplats vs Hue Essential which leaves no doubt in favour of Ikea (both quality and price. mind that Essentials already cost a third or a half of top-line Hues).

Integration was quite easy: at the 12th power-on, the bulb went into pairing mode and HA revealed it through the gateway.

I confirm every part you’d want to use of Zigbee protocol is still supported as with other bulbs provided by other vendors.

All of this leaves me no choiche other than filling my home with Kajplats!

Thanks @dwd for the script. Worked like a charm, bought KAJPLATS E27 1521 lm today, converted in one go. My local IKEA supposed to have older TRADFI in stock but apparently they were nowhere to find and I was in hurry to buy a replacement for a faulty one. Let’s see how will it behave as a router. I have another 3 devices at distance so this will be a “proxy”.

Does power-on behavior work on any bulb, while in Zigbee mode?

It updated my clear bulb from 1.0.28 to 1.1.0. Nothing changed.
(Connect to a Matter/Thread hub to update. Search kajplats here to see available updates)

Thank you so much, this helped me, after hours of trying, your method works, Thank you!!!

For everyone else, it IS Possible. Dont give up. My bulb was: KAJPLATS LED bulb E27 470 lumen.

As @officialjanssen says, x15 Off cycles (starting with On). Then soon as you complete the last off cycle, turn it on, THEN it goes its flashing, and THEN just click Touchlink Scan. Tried with two bulbs of the same type, it works.

Setup is Zigbee2MQTT.

Thank you. I was able to connect my Ikea Kajplats bulbs via zigbee2mqtt with your method. One bulb needed 15x iterations and another bulb needed 12x iterations.
Before that I tried for hours to get them into the zigbee connection mode.

I know this is now the 100th post on this topic, but I’m frustrated.

I am also referring to the following product:

KAJPLATS
LED bulb E27 806 lumen, smart white spectrum/clear/globe, 95 mm
Article number: 306.114.81

I’ve tried everything so far. My result is: 6 On-Off Cycles to reset, then 12 On-Off Cycles to set to what-ever-mode.

The light bulb starts flashing / blinking (as shown in the video), but I cannot establish a connection with z2m.

I tried:

  • Permit Join
  • Permit Join limited to coordinator only
  • Touchlink search

Does it depend on the firmware version? Does the lamp need to be updated first? I’ve also read in the forum that it simply doesn’t work with some light bulbs.

I have the same bulb. It worked with 15 power cycles, both before and after update.
You may need to bring the bulb very close to the coordinator, or fiddle with an IKEA remote to get it to join.

You can also wait until it stops Bluetooth. That will reduce the interference and it will respond to Touchlink requests. But again it needs to be within 20cm to the coordinator for the Touchlink search to find it.

I have now managed to make the lamp visible in touchlink. I can also reset the lamp via touchlink. However, it still does not connect to z2m via zigbee.

@tech-ducks what’s your coordinator and is it up-to-date?

I have the exact same problem. I have both a filament version, the 470 lumen and a normal bulb (1521 lumen). The normal one connects to z2mqtt normally, but I’m not able to connect the filament one to z2mqtt after trying multiple times.

Your video saved me huge frustration. Over 100 cycles per bulb and was close to giving up. Then 4 done in sequence first time just like your video. Thanks so much for sharing. Joined the community just to say thanks
