Ikea matter devices direct binding/dimming

Hello! Is it possible to use direct binding with matter over thread to dim lights using buttons, and not be dependent on HA instance is up and running to use the thread devices?

There is actually a way to do Matter binding in HA, but the devices, namely the button in this case, needs to support binding. However the following says the Bilresa doesn’t support it:

Hi,

Matter binding is working for me, Bilresa + Kajplats worked out of the box with clicking pairing 4 times on Bilresa

one click to rotary button for On/Off
Rotary left/right brightness down/up
Bottom button does nothing.

That’s not Matter bindings but Zigbee Touchlink.

Oh did not know that, these devices are also zigbee compatible? It seems they are!

Officially they support Zigbee Touchlink, which is for pairing a remote to a light without any hub or smart home platform.

Unofficially some new devices seem to allow adding them to Zigbee coordinators but that’s not something publicly advertised and may as well change in the future.

Does anyone know if any of the new IKEA Matter devices support direct Matter binding yet?

I’ve tried with MYGGBETT, MYGGSPRAY, and BILRESA, but none of them seem to have the ‘Binding’ attribute when viewing within the matterjs-server UI.

They don’t support Matter bindings, no binding cluster and no clusters for the typical client commands like on / off / level.

Shame. Does anyone know the best way to raise feature requests and bugs with IKEA support? I’m building up quite a list now.

I usually write the requests / bugs in reddit, there’s a IKEA representative there that I guess will at least forward it.

Few months ago before the release of the new line there was a pinned product feedback post for 2026 products, left a couple comments there mentioning bindings among other Matter features.
