Hello i got 3 ikea parasoll sensor and two works fine but the 3 lost connection i have it in my garage. can i do something so it works. as soon i take it closer to my HA it get connetion again
That’s a zigbee device and the problem you are experiencing is that zigbee works on the same radio band as 2.4ghz wifi and can only go so far… and the garage is too far.
The way you improve things is to add other powered zigbee devices between your HA server and the garage location to extend Zigbee’s reach.
If you like IKEA, you can do this with other IKEA Zigbee device (smart plugs, bulbs), which act as Zigbee mesh repeaters. IKEA has products for Zigbee and matter/thread, so be sure that the device is zigbee.
To be clear, this should be mains powered devices. Typically battery devices are not router devices, but end devices. Most, but not all, mains powered devices will be router devices.
If a mains powered device does not require a neutral wire, it may not be a router device. Some bulbs (Sengled zigbee bulbs, for example) are not router devices.
Also, consider that cutting power to router devices like bulbs and outlets will disrupt the mesh network.
How far can it go?
That is entirely dependent upon your environment.

They are router devices, so they should work. You may need more than one. The more router devices you have, the stronger your mesh network will be.
A rule of thumb would be to think about WIFI about 20 years ago - that really struggled with going through more than a wall or two.
You may also want to consider Third Reality plugs, I got a 4 pack at a similar price point to the Ikea ones - I bought them because I had a need to turn things on/off (all four are in use) but when I look at the Zigbee network graph they have good LQI scores and show up as supporting a bunch of battery devices.
TL;DR - I haven’t used Ikea, ones but I have had no problem with TR smart plugs.
Question for the community: Is there a difference in range between:
- Battery ↔ Router connections and
- Router ↔ Router connections.
I suspect there is, but I have a router in every room so all of my more “difficult” connections are always router ↔ router anyway.
arh okay. and i am not so lucky that a Shelly 1 Mini (GEN 3) maybe could work ?
Gen 3 is not a Zigbee device.
