FYI; relaying official news from IKEA which has now publicly announced that they have created a new internal business unit called “IKEA Home Smart” which will be dedicated to making new products/systems and improving within the smart home area.
This should mean a much higher focus and prioritization from IKEA on their smart home selection, including improving the existing IKEA’s Trådfri series which will be handled by this new business unit.
Hopefully, they might now even come through and make an open API for the IKEA Trådfri Gateway and then actually work with open source developers and listen to its communities in order to together work on improving such an open API.
