Ikea Tradfri Repeater alternatives for Aqara sensors

Hello,

I am new to HA and am working to set up a basic zigbee network composed of some motion sensors and some temperature sensors. I have concluded that I underestimated the range of my zigbee controller (Sonoff zigbee 3.0 plus) and need to extend its range for ZHA. Based on what I have read here, the gold standard for zigbee range extension and aqara devices is the Ikea Tradfri Signal Repeater - however it doesn’t appear that Ikea sells these anymore at least not in the US.

Are there other devices that people have found work well as a zigbee router for aqara devices?

Thanks, there’s a pretty extensive documentation recommending against that one unfortunately.

You could always pick up another Sonoff dongle and flash it with router firmware.

I’ve thought about that. Do you know if it plays well with aqara devices? I’ve read they are finicky.

Not specifically as a router, but given that they don’t have issues with them being a coordinator, I would presume not.
